Some of our best work just doesn't fit neatly into a category. Rather than make you miss it, here they are.

SITUATION: To celebrate it's 100th anniversary, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) invited 16 local firms to create a 26" x 35" poster celebrating the contributions advertising has made to the community.

STRATEGY: Sometimes the most effective way to promote a product is to depict what happens without the product. In the case of advertising, "nothing."

TACTICS: To dramatically show the effects of advertising, we started by showing a healthy ECG line within a silhouette of the Des Moines skyline. The ECG line then flatlines in neon red to illustrate the effects of not advertising. To stand out from the ordinary cardboard and papier-mâché posters, we used brushed aluminum with welded lettering and a CNC-cutout ECG line.

RESULTS: The poster was a crowd favorite and selected for display at the national AAF headquarters in Washington, DC
